Venomous Entertainment (VENT), the Florida A&M University (FAMU) student-ran record label, is excited to announce the release of its first EP on April 26. This EP features a collection of eight exceptional tracks from various music genres, showcasing the talents of student artists in the organization.

The EP titled “Room 214: The Revival Story” is a significant milestone for the music industry program recently renamed the Julian “Cannonball” and Nathaniel “Nat” Adderley Institute, as it symbolizes a “rebirth” of the program and the organization. The EP is named after the recording studio in the Foster Tanner Music building, room 214.

The students of Venomous have had many endorsements from alumni of the music industry program and local industry professionals.

Ray “Quasi” Nelson, a graduate of the music industry program and charting producer, has provided mentorship and worked with the students during the process of the creation of Room 214: The Revival Story.

“The music industry program coming into FAMU when I did… was the birth of a lot of music industry programs around the country. In the HBCU community, it wasn't as popular,” said Nelson.

“It empowered us in a way that made us really put the work in and the grind for ourselves. To me, the vision is very important because – it allows you to really tap into your creativity and really tap into understanding how you can actually go out and make a career in the music industry.”

The EP will be distributed through local Tallahassee studio, Goldie Sound, under its label Goldie Sound the Label founded by Adrian “AD” Dickey.

“We’ve partnered with Venomous – they’re part of the community of artists that we love to support,” said Dickey.

“I see myself in all of you guys. When you're hit with that music bug, you're always dreaming. I had someone help me when I was younger trying to navigate as well, so its kind of my way of giving back the same way I was given to. I’ve been blessed and I want to be a blessing.

The album represents the hard work and dedication of the talented individuals behind the scenes, including producers, songwriters, engineers, publicists, and A&R, all of whom have poured their creativity into crafting this unique musical experience. The EP seamlessly blends different genres, such as R&B, rap, hip-hop, pop, and gospel.

Founded in 2019 with advisor Darryl Tookes, Venomous Entertainment aims to provide a platform for emerging artists to make a seamless transition from “institution to industry.” The VENT artists are provided with free studio sessions, public relations, A&R services, production, and much more.

Room 214: The Revival Story will be available on all major streaming platforms on April 26.
